EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS: Details Based on Appropriate Grade Levels

K-2ND GRADE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AGED CHILDREN:
• Basic overview of the history of bluegrass music, the instruments
and vocal harmonies utilized in this uniquely American music

• Interactive performances of simple bluegrass music

• Supplementation via colorable handouts of the instruments

3RD-5TH GRADE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AGED CHILDREN:
• Semi-detailed overview of the history of bluegrass music, including a short PowerPoint presentation with photos and audio of the bluegrass music greats of the 1940’s-1950’s

• Instrument demonstrations with some explanation regarding the science behind
each instrument’s sound

• Interactive performances of simple to moderately-involved bluegrass music

• Supplementation via grade-appropriate crossword puzzles and/or word searches
utilizing vocabulary from the presentation
